Emma Raducanu has withdrawn herself from the Billie Jean King Cup before Britain’s tie against Sweden. She was not announced as a part of the squad as she is still recovering from a surgery she had undergone.

Great Britain did not make it to the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup and will now have to play in the 2024 qualifiers for the same. The team will now play with Katie Boulter, Jodie Burrage, Harriet Dart, and Heather Watson. They will be representing the team on their home soil, next month in London.

The team will now have to play without the likes of 2021 US Open Champion, Emma Raducanu, who is still recovering from surgery. This comes as a setback to the British Team. She is expected to make a comeback in the 2024 season.

Meanwhile, she was expected to feature in the Billie Jean King Cup as a warm-up before her comeback next season. She has been going to the gym and is starting to develop her fitness as well. Emma Raducanu’s team has still not decided on a return date. However, she frequently posts videos of herself in the gym getting her body ready to play on the court once again.

Emma Raducanu’s main focus will now be to get her body fit to return to the season next year and will be extending her support to Team Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup. As she is still recovering from surgery, she and her team are unaware of when exactly she will be present in court. Former World No.3 has already undergone 3 surgeries, on both her wrists and an ankle in May this year. She has not yet recovered fully from these yet.
