The Show Court 2 of the Australian Open buzzed with anticipation for the return of the British pro-Emma Raducanu. After almost 8 months long on the sidelines, the 21-year-old returned to make her comeback to the top and once again be the promising star she once was.

Raducanu started her comeback early at the ASB Classic but soon lost in her second-round match against Elina Svitolina. As disappointed as she was, the youngster geared up for the Australian Open where she made her comeback against Shelby Rogers. Raducanu, dressed in full yellow, shined brighter than the sun as she cruised past her opponent in straight sets. She won against the American 6-3,6-2 to advance to the next round.

After a sweet victory, the Brit posted a few pictures on her Instagram, thanking the crowd for their support and for making it feel like home for her. A cool and composed Raducanu struck the jackpot in her first round as she advanced to the next round to face up against China’s Wang Yafan.

Entering the match with a clear vision and head, the Brit displayed a few strong serves and forehands as she won the game pretty easily. Thanking the crowd, the 21-year-old revealed how much she missed the interacting crowd who continued to cheer on the returning star.

The crowd has had a great role this time at the Australian Open to interact in between points. While players like Novak Djokovic have found it to be irritating, others have liked the inclusion of the crowd. Moreover, If Raducanu can manage to win her second-round match, she will enter the Round of 32 and stand a chance to play her British teammate Katie Boulter. Both the Englishwomen have ended up in the same draw and if the cards are played right, Raducanu may end up facing Boulter or Qinwen Zheng given who wins that match.
