Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu shares a picture of herself in a wheelchair, showing the true extent of her injury. There were a lot of criticisms against the Briton for her focus on advertisements and endorsements despite her poor performance on the court. Raducanu has already withdrawn from the French Open.

Raducanu now wrote on her Instagram handle with a video of her recovery program before the Australian Open 2023, “A little insight into my unorthodox prep for the last Grand Slam in Aus this January. We had 10 days to try to get my ankle match ready from scratch.”

The 20-year-old has undergone surgery for her wrist and ankle injuries sustained during the Auckland Open at the beginning of the year. After that, she was able to reach only the second round of the Australian Open. Then she played only in three tournaments, and her best performance was in Indian Wells, where she reached the pre-quarterfinals.

After her triumph in the US Open 2021, the young Briton has gone through an unprecedented downfall in her career. Factually, she was never able to go past even the second round in any of the Grand Slams post-miracle in the USA.

After failing to beat Coco Gauff in the second round of the Australian Open 2023, she looked way more comfortable on the court, displaying high-quality tennis until she met the in-form Polish World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the pre-quarterfinals of Indian Wells 2023. Her last tournament was indoor clay at the Stuttgart Open, where she fell in the opening round against Jelena Ostapenko.

Currently ranked at 107 and not any news of her comeback tournament yet, the tennis world is looking forward to hearing some positive news from the Briton in the coming days.
