Boris Becker was a global sports icon and one of the greatest tennis players of the 1980s and 90s era. He changed the dynamics of the sport and contributed to its increasing popularity over the years.

However, now he is languishing in a British jail on the charges of committing fraud. He understated the value of his assets and loans by almost £2.5 million.

The British Government has deported Boris Becker under its new early release scheme soon. According to this scheme, any foreign national serving a fixed sentence who is liable for removal from the UK is to be removed from prison and deported up to 12 months before the earliest release point of their sentence. This scheme was brought in by the UK Government to decrease pressure on British jails.

Boris Becker, as reported by the British newspaper The Sun, can cut 135 days from his prison sentence by agreeing to the terms and conditions of deportation.

We are pleased for Boris that he may qualify for an early release and be able to travel to Germany, albeit England, has been his home for many, many years. I’m sure it will mean a lot to him and his family to be reunited for Christmas,” his former spokesperson said.

I can imagine many things for Boris: Head of Men’s Tennis, representative, board, or whatever else. To put it casually: Boris can pick the job,” Vice-President of the German Tennis Federation gave a statement.

Boris Becker was the head of men’s tennis in Germany for a period of 3 years from 2017 to 2020. He also was the coach of Novak Djokovic from 2013 to 2016. He can help German tennis to progress in the coming years.
