The 2023 ATP Finals features one of the most prolific lineups as compared to the last few years. 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic headlines the draw, entering the tournament as the first seed. Djokovic will also be defending his title as he defeated Norwegian pro Casper Ruud in the final last year. The 2018 and 2021 champion Alexander Zverev enters the tournament as the 7th seed and a hot favorite.

2020 champion and World No.3 heads into the tournament on the back of a fairly successful season, winning 5 titles in addition to reaching 4 finals. The tournament will commence on the 12th of November and will be played in Turin, Italy. One of the things to look out for in the tournament will be the battle for the 1st spot between Djokovic and Alcaraz.

Djokovic needs just one win in the round-robin stage to cement his year-end World No.1 spot. The players have been divided into two groups for the round-robin stage – the green group and the red group.

Djokovic will take on Jannik Sinner, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Holger Rune in the green group. On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Zverev will face off in the red group.

Alcaraz and Rune will appear at the tournament for the first time. While Sinner has already played in the 2021 version of the tournament as a first change, this will be the first time he qualifies for the event. World No.1 Djokovic will be looking forward to winning a record-extending 7th title at the ATP Finals.

Sharing a wide variety of reactions, here’s what fans had to say on the social media site ‘X’ :

The prize money for the tournament is $15,000,000 and the participation fee for a player is $325,500. This is an increase of about 103.45% compared to the total prize money in last year’s tournament. There is also a major increase in the financial reward for every round in the competition compared to the 2022 edition of the tournament.
