It has been a great year for the World No 1 Carlos Alcaraz. He created history by becoming the youngest year-end top-ranked player. He clinched his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open and four ATP singles titles in the calendar year. As he looks forward to kickstarting the new season, he gets a new tattoo engraved on his body.

His withdrawal from the Year-end Championship due to an abdominal injury ended his 2022 campaign abruptly. One of his most remarkable performances has been at the Madrid Open, where he defeated the Top 3 seeds to win his sixth ATP title. He has registered a 57-13 win-loss record throughout the year with an 81.4 win percentage. In addition to that, he has won nine times against Top 10 players in 2022.

Alcaraz took to his social media account on Instagram to share the news. It was clear that the tattoo on his left arm depicted his love and affection for his granddad. He shared that he remembers his grandfather’s motto of ‘cabeza, corazon, cojones’. It translates to “head, heart, balls” which are some crucial things that matter to his life and encourages him at all times.

The 19-year-old has been the breakthrough performer of the year. He started the year as World No 31 but ended the year as the top-ranked player. For his fantastic performances, he has been adjudged the Most Improved Player at the 2022 ATP Awards. While it is of great importance to the young Spaniard, people on social media hailed his move.

Adding to his list of achievements, he stands 10th on the list of highest-paid athletes of 2022. The Spaniard crossed the $10 million mark in his overall earnings through his winning numerous tournaments this season. The biggest prize money came from his win at the US Open which added $2.6 million. Carlos Alcaraz will aim to build his foundation for charitable purposes which will strive to promote social and unity actions. Moreover, the welfare Foundation plans to organize a few exhibition matches.
