A recent poster released by the French sports company Eurosport recently received wide backlash for apparently trying to undermine the achievements and title secured by the World No. 1 and 24-time Grand Slam title winner, Novak Djokovic.
The poster included the likes of iconic tennis stars like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Carlos Alcaraz.
However, one thing did not sit well with the Nole fans, which was his placement in the entire poster.
A pathetic attempt to diminish Novak’s dominance even visually in the photo. Poor souls. One of the fans also commented, stating,
The poster incorporated all those players who had managed to win more than one Grand Slam over the last two decades of the sport.
He was positioned a little to the side, while the ‘King of Clay‘ and Swiss maestro were more in focus, positioned in the center of the frame.
This seemed to anger and trigger the Serbian fans, as they felt it was an attempt to diminish his excellent record in the sport.
It is true that there is always tension between ‘Fedal’ and Novak fans, and the dispute regarding the ‘Greatest of All Time’ debate is a never-ending one.
There are constant online and social media clashes between the fans of the ‘Big 3’, and this particular poster only aggravated the situation further.
Novak Djokovic fans lash out against the design of the poster
World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, has undoubtedly broken almost all records in the sport and is the player to win the highest number of Grand Slams so far.
However, a poster apparently sidelining him from the other greats of tennis has infuriated fans as they lash out against it.
Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, let us have a look at some of the comments made by fans in response to the design of the poster:
Nothing can change the fact that the Serbian legend still leads the race for Grand Slam titles and will possibly add more to his tally in the 2024 season.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion will next play at his favorite tournament, the Australian Open, which will begin in mid-January.
