‘F***ed up the draw’ Twitter slams French Open authorities for keeping Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Carlos Alcaraz in the same half of the draw

Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Carlos Alcaraz

The 2022 French Open is around the corner and the draws for the same are out. World No.1 Novak Djokovic, 13-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal, and Spanish teenage sensation Carlos Alcaraz are the pre-tournament favorites to win the title. However, these three weren’t all in the top 4 seeds and hence there was a possibility of a quarterfinal clash.

And to everyone’s surprise, all three of them are placed in the same half of the draw- the top half. To add more, Rafael Nadal is placed in Novak Djokovic’s quarter, which means that there is a possibility of a Djokovic-Nadal clash in the quarterfinal itself.

This though is kind of bumming because of the things that are at stake for both of the players and a showdown in the early stages of the business end won’t be justified. Djokovic and Nadal are two of the best on tour and it is just a shame that either one of them will have a quarterfinal exit.

On top of that, Carlos Alcaraz is also in the top half of the draw. This means that the winner of the potential Djokovic-Nadal quarterfinal could face Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals. This again means that any one of them will be eliminated in the last 4 which again is a shame.
