The Big Three debate is among the most discussed topics not only in tennis, but in the entire sporting community. Recently, Roger Federer bid adieu to the tennis community after an emotional farewell Doubles fixture with Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup 2022. Boxing great and one of the most renowned sporting celebrities Mike Tyson was asked to pick his favorite among the Big Three.

In the ‘Advantage Connors’ podcast, Mike Tyson showered praise on Roger Federer, and stated that he loved to watch him play in his prime. He also reserved praise for Novak Djokovic, who claimed his 21st major title at Wimbledon 2022. However, he did not many good things to say about Rafael Nadal.

Mike Tyson admitted to being a Roger Federer fanboy, and waxed lyrical on his flawless game style. He stated that back in his prime, Roger Federer was a smooth and elegant player. The American great does not seem to be a huge fan of Rafael Nadal, as he stated that the Spaniard was all over the place back in the days. Mike Tyson believes that Rafael Nadal is not as elegant a player as Roger Federer.

“Djokovic, definitely, and Federer. Talking about Djokovic, he came back from all those injuries,” Tyson said. “You know, I love Djokovic personally but I’m just a big fan of Federer. When he was in his prime, he was always moving in the air. He’s smooth. He’s really smooth. Nadal was just all over the place. He’s a great player, but he doesn’t look great playing. Federer is smooth and very elegant,” he added.

Mike Tyson also spoke about his current favorite player on tour. The retired boxer chose Novak Djokovic, as he is truly inspired by his fighting spirit. Over the years, the Serbian has put a halt on the ‘Fedal’ domination, and has shattered several records.

“Novak Djokovic is my favorite at the moment. If he is okay, I really like to watch him. He is my favorite because the way he has come back from injury and beaten guys like Nadal and Federer is amazing. He’s a true fighter,” Tyson said.
