Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime is currently going through a rough patch. He had a horrible run in 2023 and only won one trophy—the Swiss Indoors (Basel)—this year.

Considering the fact that he achieved his career-highest rank of World No. 6 just last season, it must be said that Aliassime has seen a major dip in his performances. In a recent interview, he talked about this and how he feels when he sees youngsters like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune getting ahead of him.

Felix Auger-Aliassime is currently 23 years old. Jannik Sinner is 22 years old, while both Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune are 20 years old. Thus, they are all significantly younger than the Canadian.

However, in 2023, they achieved great heights in their careers. Alcaraz, Sinner, and Rune are currently ranked 2nd, 4th, and 8th on the points table, respectively.

Talking about the comparisons, Aliassime said that he is still extremely young and has not missed the opportunity to overtake them yet. Moreover, it’s not that they are way ahead of him. They have achieved certain things that Aliassme has yet to achieve, and vice versa. Thus, the youngster is of the opinion that he can and will still compete with them.

I don't feel like I missed the boat. I managed to do things before Sinner, he managed others before me. (…) I still have the conviction that I can compete with all these players.
He said

Felix Auger-Aliassime recently won the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for his extraordinary philanthropic work outside the tennis court. He started the #FAAPointsForChange three years ago. With every point that he scored, EduChange, which was set up by the NGO CARE and helps kids from Tongo’s Kara region, got a donation of $20.

Felix Auger-Aliassime talks about his biggest aim currently

The Canadian said that his biggest ambition has always been to win a Grand Slam, and it continues to be so. Instead of focusing on other players, he needs to focus on himself so that he can realize that dream soon.

My ambitions have always been the same since I was a teenager and a young player on the tour: it is to go all the way in a Grand Slam. It is to win. Will I get there in 2024? We will see.
He said

As of now, Felix Auger-Aliassime has not even won a Masters 1000 and must improve his performances soon. He will be participating in the 2024 Australian Open, and fans will look forward to an improvement in his antics.
