In a recent interview, the Serbian recalls this once-in-a-lifetime moment. He lucidly explains how Federer had a huge influence on his career’s biggest brand deal at a very young age.

Both Krajinovic and Federer share the same agency IMG and when the then World No. 1v Federer needed a sparring partner, he flew the Serbian to Miami to play with him.

As one of the biggest junior players, Nike was supposed to offer the Serbian a brand deal, but after they spoke to Federer, who spoke highly of his partner, it influenced the brand to offer one of their biggest deals to the junior champion.

I was supposed to sign a contract with Nike, so they asked Federer what he thought of the kid. He said all the best and that's when I got one of the biggest junior contracts in the world. His words were very strong at that moment. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

As a World No. 1, Federer’s words had a profound impact on the youngster’s career. The 31-year-old, who had reached his career high of 26, had not been able to live up to his title as one of the biggest junior players and had slowly fallen outside the 100th rank.
