“F***ing kidding me?” Nick Kyrgios complains about the smell of weed from the crowd, later spits on the court in anger

Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios keeps his good run this season going as he defeats Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi in the second round of the 2022 US Open. Kyrgios got the better of Bonzi in four sets 7-6(3),6-4,4-6,6-4 to reach the third round at Flushing Meadows. He has never reached beyond the third round of the US Open and it will be a great chance for him to make it to the second week for the first time when he faces J.J. Wolf on Friday.
Kyrgios is having an amazing season and is rising up the ranks rapidly. After reaching the final at Wimbledon, he also won his maiden title of the year at Washington and is one of the favorites to go deep in New York this week. But Kyrgios has expressed his frustration many times and has said that after being on the run for so long, he just wants the US Open to finish as soon as possible so that he can go home to his ailing mother.
In Kyrgios’ second-round match against Bonzi, a very strange incident took place. The Australian complained to the chair umpire that he can smell weed from the crowd which was distracting him. When the umpire said it might be a food smell, Kyrgios was irritated and said it was “f***ing weed”.

Marijuana, with various restrictions, is legal in New York but smoking is prohibited at Flushing Meadows and one surely isn’t permitted to smoke in the stands. Kyrgios complained multiple times that he could smell marijuana. One of the commentators also confirmed that and said he even saw it happening with his eyes.
Fans on social media took this in a very light way and joked about all of New York currently is filled with Marijuana smell.
Later in the match, Kyrgios lost his cool after getting broken. He spat on the court in anger and as a result, received a code violation for inappropriate behavior.
