“Fitting for it to be named after GOAT” James Blake lauds the new idea of Nike’s Serena Williams building

Serena Williams

Serena Williams is the greatest of all time without a doubt. With 23 Singles Grand Slams behind only Margaret Court, the American showed the world what she was capable of. While she has been absent from the court for a long time, the tennis legend has certainly kept herself busy being a part of campaigns and taking off her Venture capital business. Not to mention, her personal life with her daughter Olympia is highly appreciated by fans too.

Recently, Nike constructed a Serena Williams building which will consist of their workforce and brand designers. James Blake, the American tennis player was highly appreciative of the thought process behind Nike’s naming of the building and said it was perfect as she is the greatest player of all time. He thinks it is a cool concept from Nike’s side and completely supports it. In his tweet he says, “Such a cool concept for Nike to name its buildings after its athletes,” James Blake tweeted. “And this one being so amazing is fitting for it to be named for the GOAT @serenawilliams.”

The Serena Williams building is a 1million sq ft acre with houses for 1000 designers complete with cafes and a theatre with Olympia, daughter of Serena in honor of Serena Williams. To top it off, the color scheme for the entire plan was purple and roses mostly as they are Williams’s favorite. When asked about the plan, John Hoke, Nike’s chief designer said, “We were bringing Serena in early to not just be the building’s name, but really help participate,” “It is a tribute to Serena Williams.”

Serena Williams was in awe of the news that the building was named in her honor and she hopes this inspires other people to follow in her footsteps and aim bigger and higher than ever. When asked about the building she said, “The whole building takes your breath away,” Williams said. “Every element, everywhere you go, is an opportunity to be inspired. I hope this building encourages people to bring out the best of themselves and to dream bigger than they thought possible.”

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has yet to confirm when she will come back and has not given up on her pursuit to win the Grand Slam and level up with Margaret Court. The American is not retiring and fans are left to guess which title or Grand slam tournament is she going to start off her professional on-court matches in. We hope that the news of the building being constructed does indeed inspire the youth to continue on with their hopes of bettering themselves in the field of sports.
