Former coach of Dominic Thiem believes that Murray, Nadal, Federer and Djokovic in their prime played better than Carlos Alcaraz today
Former coach of Dominic Thiem Gunter Bresnik believes that the Big Four in their primes were all better than Carlos Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Andy Murray and Roger Federer
Former coach of Gael Monfils and Dominic Thiem, Gunter Bresnik has made a big statement comparing the Big Four in their respective peaks and Carlos Alcaraz. The coach believes that the likes of Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in their primes were better than the 20-year-old Spaniard today.
Carlos Alcaraz has taken the world by storm after he claimed a dramatic five-set victory over Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon finals. The youngster handed the Serbian his first defeat on Centre Court in over a decade. However, the former coach of Dominic Thiem believes that the Big Four would outperform him back in their days.
Carlos Alcaraz already has two Grand Slam titles to his name, as he has claimed the 2022 US Open and 2023 Wimbledon titles. He is currently at the top of the ATP Rankings, and is the man to beat at the moment. The 20-year-old has already won six titles in 2023, despite missing the first couple of months owing to an injury.

Gunter Bresnik believes a fully fit Rafael Nadal could match up to Carlos Alcaraz

Gunter Bresnik made yet another bold statement, claiming that a fully fit Rafael Nadal could match up to Carlos Alcaraz. The 37-year-old is out on the sidelines, as he continues to recover from his recent surgery. However, the coach believes that given the Spaniard returns to his best, he could very well compete against his fellow countryman.
“I’m still convinced that Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and even Murray in their time played better than Alcaraz today. And if Nadal were to reach his best again, I think he would be able to compete with his compatriot,” said Bresnik.
Rafael Nadal will not compete at the 2023 US Open as well, given that he continues his path to recovery. He is expected to return to action in the last part of the year, or the start of the 2024 season. The 22-time Grand Slam champion has already revealed that next year could potentially be his last year on tour. The veteran has been missing in action for almost more than six months, given the injury he picked up at the 2023 Australian Open during his second-round encounter.
