Frances Tiafoe has been out of a title for quite some time now after winning his last title at Stuttgart beating homeboy Jan-Lennard Struff way back in mid-June. He has been criticized quite often for disappearing in big tournaments. While he continues to impress at the ATP 500 and ATP 1000 tournaments, he is still yet to make it to the later stages of any of the major Grand Slam competitions which has raised a lot of questions against the American.

While the US Open is still yet to come, Tiafoe plans on gathering as much confidence as possible before the mega tournament. With his first-round matchup against Aslan Karatsev going very well for him, Frances has already announced his arrival, making it clear that he is here for serious business. He beat the Russian 6-7, 6-7 in straight sets to progress to the next round.
