Overnight superstar Frances Tiafoe continues his dominant run at the Fayez Sarofim and Co. U.S. Men’s clay court championship with a well-deserved win against James Duckworth. 

On Thursday evening, the American broke his 2-set loss to begin his title defense in Houston. Last year, the Breakpoint star went on to win the title without dropping a set, However, this time he faced a challenge in the first round itself. 

The American was up against James Duckworth in the first round. Everyone saw a tight battle between the two. After a first-set brilliance, Tiafoe almost choked but held his nerves towards the end, winning 6-2, 6(4), 7-5. It was an intense two hours and 15 minutes for the American, who kicked off his title defense. 

After the game, Tiafoe left a rather motivational message for the world, which took the online world by surprise. Interestingly enough, this message was unlike other messages that athletes usually leave.
