Daniil Medvedev is the current World No. 2 and will be playing at French Open 2023 after clinching the Rome Masters title last week. He hopes to make a deep run in this year’s French Open as he only made it to the 4th round last year.

Medvedev has been performing really well since his loss to Sebastian Korda in Round 3 of the Australian Open 2022. Since this loss, Medvedev has won as many as 5 titles, which include two ATP 1000 tournaments. As the clay season progressed, Medvedev has grown in confidence. It will be interesting to know how the Russian performs in this year’s edition after he was knocked out in the 4th round last year.

Thiago Seyboth Wild has made it to the main draw of the French Open for the 1st time. The qualifier last played at the ATP Challenger Event in Turin where he lost to Argentine, Sebastian Baez in the quarter-finals of the event. The 2018 US Open Champion would be facing an uphill task to challenge the world number 2. It will be interesting to see how he goes about it.

As far as head-to-head is concerned, the duo haven’t played in the past and therefore this will be their 1st encounter.
