Novak Djokovic‘s coach Goran Ivanisevic has been under the limelight for quite some time now after his on-court incident with the Serb during the Wimbledon Championships. Goran also reflected back on that incident in his interview with Sportske Novosti when Novak was seen shouting at his staff team letting out his emotions during his match against Carlos Alcaraz at the final.
Goran feels that it is pretty normal for any player to do so as he also stated his Top-3 favorites for the upcoming US Open. He feels that Jannik Sinner would be one amount the two players who could pose a threat to World No. 1 Alcaraz. Sinner has been in a fantastic run this year and in the recently played Wimbledon, he was looking unplayable until he got beaten by Djokovic in the semi-finals.
He stated his favorites for US Open saying, “Alcaraz is a story on its own, and Sinner is the only one who can worry him at the US Open, along with Novak. The game that Sinner is developing doesn’t match Alcaraz and they’ve had some very interesting matches so far. Also, if Medvedev has a big day, he can do well because he’s a phenomenal player for me. Novak remains the only “dinosaur” among the oldest, the other dangerous players are all young. It’s a normal sequence, but the elders haven’t said their last word yet.”
How Goran Ivanisevic has been a true revelation in Novak Djokovic’s game for the last few years?

Goran Ivanisevic has been a true tutor for Novak Djokovic and has also been his best friend in times of hardship. It is no secret how much impact Goran has had in Novak’s gameplay since joining him way back in 2018 thereby turning him into an even more fierce competitor in the last few years. Novak was always a true hard worker and aggressive competitor but it was in the last six years when he turned into an absolute beast ripping away opponents and lifting titles for fun.
Novak was always talked about being the third best in the Roger-Nadal-Novak rivalry but Goran handled that pretty well turning Novak into a more calm and composed player which helped him excel in the long run. Djokovic has no newcomer to boos and hates spread by the fans but the way he has tackled that in the last few years and thereby using that as an ignition force, there are very few who come close to him in terms of mental strength.
