Men’s Singles Draw Preview
Top Half
Daniil Medvedev, who is one of the best grass-court players in the world, will headline the top half of the draw. He will face David Goffin in the first round and will then face the winner of the match between Jan-Lennard Struff and Ilya Ivashka. He is drawn against 7th seed Roberto Bautista Agut who opens against Marton Fucsovics. The Spaniard will face either Alex Molcan or a qualifier in the second round and is expected to meet Medvedev in the quarterfinal.
Third seed Andrey Rublev will face Nikoloz Basilashvili in a blockbuster opening-round clash and will face either Oscar Otte or Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round. He is expected to lock horns against Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinal who opens against fellow countryman Aslan Karatsev in yet another mouth-watering clash. Khachanov will meet the winner of the match between Laslo Djere and Henri Squire.
1st Semifinal Prediction: Daniil Medvedev vs Andrey Rublev
Bottom Half
Stefanos Tsitsipas is seeded second and will headline the bottom half of the draw. He will face Benjamin Bonzi in the opening round and will then meet either Daniel Altmaier or Australian showman Nick Kyrgios in a nightmare second-round clash. Pablo Carreno Busta also hinds himself in the bottom quarter and gets Dane sensation Holger Rune in the first round. Sebastian Korda and Cristian Garin are also in the same quarter. This is the most open section of the draw with each player worthy of making it to the last 8.
4th seed Felix Auger Aliassime will open his campaign against Marcos Giron in the opening round and is expected to meet yet another American, Mackenzie McDonald in the Round of 16. 5th seed Hubert Hurkacz will play a qualifier in the first round and will face another qualifier or Ugo Humbert in the second round. Felix and Hurkacz are expected to meet in the quarterfinal.
2nd Semifinal Prediction: Felix Auger Aliassime vs Nick Kyrgios
Semifinals
The first semifinal will be played between two players who unfortunately are banned from Wimbledon- Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev. Medvedev has a game very well suited to grass while Rublev may not be the best grass-court player, but he bodes well with the surface too. Medvedev, however, is expected to beat his compatriot.
Felix Auger Aliassime and Nick Kyrgios will lock horns in the second semifinal. Both Felix and Nick have games perfectly suited to grass. With their big serves, both will look to keep the rallies short but Kyrgios may just have enough to reach his maiden tour final of the season.
Halle Open Final: Daniil Medvedev vs Nick Kyrgios
Final
Two very unorthodox players, Daniil Medvedev and Nick Kyrgios will meet in the final at Halle. Medvedev is one of the most consistent players on the tour and is the current World No.1. Kyrgios, unlike the majority of his career, has shown some consistency this season and would definitely fancy his chances against Medvedev. The Russian has an all-round game and will most likely win the Halle Open.
Champion: Daniil Medvedev
