Former World No 1 Novak Djokovic is eyeing his sixth singles title at the 2022 ATP Finals with a chance to equal the record with Roger Federer. He is one of the greatest players who has inspired millions with his incredible achievements in his career. Spaniard legend Rafael Nadal acknowledged the efforts of the Serbian while hailing his fighting spirit and passion for the game.
Djokovic has had his fair share of ups and downs throughout the year over his unvaccinated status. He had to skip tournaments in the Australian leg as well as in the North American swing and fell out from the top 5 rankings. He remains one of the fittest players on the block with his agility, grit, and compassion.
During an interaction with all Top-8 players in Turin, they answered some commonly asked questions on various topics. One such question was “What quality of champion do you most admire in someone else in this room?“. The 22-time Grand Slam champion was quick to appreciate his arch-rival and heaped in praises for his professionalism and for always sticking to his principles without falling prey to societal pressure. He also hailed his champion qualities.
Nadal said that “I have to tell Novak that he is able to be super professional, to control his body, to keep his passion. No matter how things go, he always continues until the end and it’s something very difficult, especially in a very long career after all the successes. Continuing to have the passion and the love for the game, I think that’s something that I admire a lot.“
