John McEnroe and Nick Kyrgios
Nick Kyrgios played his first ever final at the Wimbledon Championship 2022 against Novak Djokovic. Even though he couldn’t win, he left his own mark after the big day on Sunday. Kyrgios himself could not believe that he has reached this far. He has been the talk of the town for various reasons either with his unique playing styles or with getting angry during the course of the match and shouting at the audience or the chair umpires.
He had a great two weeks at the SW19 and gained an experience for a lifetime playing the legend Djokovic. They even shared a bit of bromance off the court. But Kyrgios’s sudden outbursts in his matches cannot be ignored at all. He got so irritated during the finals that he urged the chair umpire to remove the unruly spectator whom he felt is creating disturbance for him and he was about to lose the second set.
” His blows are incredible “John McEnroe on Nick Kyrgios’ unique game style
Nick Kyrgios has been going through a lot both personally and professionally and does charitable work but sometimes his sudden outbursts receive a lot of criticism. Former American tennis player John McEnroe, who is a 7-time Grand Slam champion, feels Kyrgios needs proper guidance to control his anger and turn his anger in the right ways. He feels he can have a bright future ahead if could learn to control his emotions.
McEnroe said” He may not be the right person to speak on this as he himself had such problems. But I hope Nick could be great for the game. Forget the moments he screams because his blows are incredible. His tweeners on crucial points may not seem normal, but this guy does it most of the time.” He further added, “I hope he will decide that it is worth getting involved for a few years“. McEnroe wishes him good luck for his future and wants to see him winning his first Grand Slam soon.
