“The Greatest there ever will be!” Novak Djokovic hailed by fans on Twitter as the ‘GOAT’ ahead of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer

Novak Djokovic with his 2022 Wimbledon trophy
Serbian maestro Novak Djokovic was the last man standing on the lush green centre court grass as he defeated Nick Kyrgios in four sets 4-6,6-3,6-4,7-6(3) to win his 7th Wimbledon title. With this, he has equaled Pete Sampras’ record of 7 titles at the All England Club and is ahead of Roger Federer for the first time ever in the all-time major tally.
He is also just one major behind Rafael Nadal who stands at the top with 22 grand slam titles. This was his 38th consecutive match win on the centre court, the longest winning streak on centre court in Wimbledon history. He hasn’t lost on centre court since 2013. He is also on a 28 match winning streak and has not lost at SW19 since 2017.
After Djokovic’s triumph, the GOAT debate between Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer once again started. Nadal was clearly ahead after the French Open when he hit the ’22’ mark but now Djokovic too has created history and hence the debate is once again on- Who is the GOAT?
