“He might infect everyone?” American presenter Mike North questions the unjust ban on ‘unvaccinated’ Novak Djokovic

Mike North and Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic is still in the headlines after his Wimbledon win, he is just one major title behind in terms of most no. of grand slam titles. He has recently proven that he is still going strong on the road to becoming the greatest player in Tennis. The 35 years old has been looking in good shape and if everything goes well which means he plays the upcoming slams then it seems that he will get the badge of having most major titles.

Novak Djokovic was the centre of all the drama in the Australian Open at the beginning of this year’s calendar when he was deported before the start of the Australian Open in January because he remained unvaccinated. Rafael Nadal went on to win that tournament, which was the 21st Grand Slam championship of his career, and broke a tie with Djokovic and Roger Federer for the most men’s singles titles at majors.

Mike North wants Novak Djokovic to play in the US Open and is not satisfied with the strict vaccine regulations.

Mike North who is a popular radio personality in the USA has responded to a video of the herd of people illegally entering by crossing the river to get inside the country. Mike referenced Djokovic and the American baseball team Kanas Royals to express his dissatisfaction with the strict regulations.

“In other news the Kansas City royals that aren’t vaccinated can’t play in Canada …and Djokovic can’t play in the US Open because he might infect everyone! what a joke. But below is acceptable,” Mike tweeted.

But his next shot at the upcoming grand slams looks quite uncertain because of his unvaccinated status and the next two grand slams are US Open and the Australian Open. Both the nations allow only vaccinated individuals to get inside their region. Last week after winning Wimbledon, the Serb expressed that the only way he can play in the US Open is if there is a relaxation in the procedures that banned his entry into the country. If there is no relaxation given to Novak then it seems like he will only be able to play a grand slam in the 2023 French Open which is almost 10 months from now!
