Talking about Alcaraz, Ferrero said, “You don’t want to lose a Grand Slam final. It was tough to control emotions and he was not the same at the start. He was tired at the 3rd set, and to win that set was the key to the match. All the hours that he spent on the court had an impact on the final but as he said… there was no time to be tired. He tried to push all the time.”

It’s tough to describe Carlos in words. He was born to win these kinds of tournaments and matches. From the moment that I started with him, I saw things that were different from all the other guys. And I still see that every day, I’m not surprised. I know his level. It all happened very fast. Maybe it’s a surprise for everybody except for me because I watch him every day. I knew if it wasn’t this year it would probably happen in 2023,” Ferrero added further.

Ferrero seems to have no doubts that Carlos Alcaraz will be on top for a long time and the 19-year-old has proven just how good he is after his triumph at the US Open.
