In an exciting match of tennis at the ATP Finals, fans witnessed another form of entertainment in the form of young Dane Holger Rune arguing with the chair umpire Aurelie Tourte. The youngster was on the receiving end of all the booing over a controversial call.

Rune was up against Jannik Sinner in the last match of the green group. This was a deciding match for the Dane who had to win to qualify for the semi-finals. After a set down, he was attempting a come-back in the second set when he tried to challenge his serve.

The 8th seed asked for a video review to see if he stopped the point and asked for a review, but as shown by Tourte, Rune challenged after Sinner hit an unplayable shot and hence the challenge was denied. The Dane sarcastically clapped towards the crowd, which urged them to jeer louder.

Following this, the very engaging Italian crowd erupted with boos towards the youngster. Even as Rune was going to serve, the crowd would not stop jeering and the chair umpire had to come in and stop the crowd.

Holger Rune unable to qualify for the semi-finals, ends fabulous debut 

Youngster Holger Rune made his debut in the Nitto ATP Finals, however, he lost his opening match to Djokovic but soon won his next match against Stefanos Tsitsipas via walkthrough. With the semi-final chances in his own hands, Rune was unable to secure a win which ensured that Novak Djokovic qualified along with Jannik Sinner.

Jannik Sinner was quite happy with his performance against Rune. 

I had never beaten Holger & it was clear that it was going to be a great battle. It is fantastic to have been able to win, he is a great player & serves great. This is an important victory for me & I know I have a great opportunity to do something important on Saturday.

The top 2 players from the green group have been revealed but it is yet to be revealed as to who may qualify from the red group. Medvedev has a strong foot into the semi-finals and it is to be seen who will join the Russian in the semi-finals.
