World No. 4, Holger Rune, is one of the leading youngsters who are expected to carry forward the torch of the sport. Despite not being able to win any major title in his career yet after his Paris Masters win way back in November last year, Runeseemeds really determined to make something happen at the upcoming US Open when videos of his practice sessions went viral recently.
However, the main funny incident that has occurred in the life of the Dane is that he is still having trouble finding the court that has been assigned to him for his first-round matchup against Roberto Carballes Baena. He posted a graphical representation of the entire Billy Jean Stadium on Twitter, requesting the viewers to lead him to his allotted court, which is Court 5.
He wrote a caption, “Usopen site map. In case you can find court 5, this is where I play my first match Monday followed by 11:00 @usopen #seeyou #lovemyfans #loveyoursupport“.This is quite funny as well as proving what a funny-loving character Rune is by asking his fans on Twitter for help with such a small thing. Irrespective of the love he has received in the last few months, he works hard to give it back to his fans by winning the first Slam of his career at the US Open.
Is Holger Rune the one to watch out for at the upcoming US Open?
Rune had started the year after his three ATP titles success last year with a lot of hopes set on him. He was regarded as the one to give Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic a real test for the championships. But he hasn’t quite made an impact this year, despite making it to the last stages of the majority of the tournaments. Last year, he shocked the entire world by lifting his first Masters’ title at the Paris Masters, beating Novak in the final.
He came from behind to win the match, along with his other two titles in Munich and Stockholm. This year he has defended his title yet again at Munich, but other than that, he doesn’t have any other accolades to showcase. He has been taking deep strides toward lifting his first Major title and making it to the quarterfinals at both Wimbledon and Roland Garros. Having made it to his career-best ranking recently, he will try to prove his worth going into the competition as a fourth seed.
