The relationship between Italian ace Matteo Berrettini and presenter Melissa Satta is the hot ‘talk of the town’ nowadays. Not the first time that the Goal Deejay presenter is dating a sportsperson. She previously has been with footballer Bobo Vieri. Satta was also involved in a 10-year marriage with footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng. She also had a son with the footballer, namely Maddox Prince Boateng.

Currently, she is seen going around with tennis player Matteo Berrettini and the couple has attracted a lot of unfortunate attention that could have been avoided. Keeping aside the controversy, the soul of the relationship is still the purest and most beautiful moment in the lives of the two celebrities. In a chat on Sky Talks with Vanity Fair, Satta disclosed the initial phase of her relationship.

When asked about how the couple met for the first time, she replied, “In Miami, at a dinner with mutual friends. We talked to each other, we exchanged phone numbers, and we started talking from there. The next day, we were both leaving. My life is in Milan, he lives in Monte Carlo. A thousand chats on WhatsApp. Which never ended. I’ve met people at dinner and exchanged numbers, but often it ends as it began. Not with Matteo: if we are still here it is because then we managed to meet… In various cities”

The next question was more about how the couple spends time apart from all the talk on the phone. To this, she responded, “We like to have fun together, like recently, at dinner and karaoke. But also having evenings at home, when he trains and I work, anyway. I’m German: dinner is at 7 in the evening and my son goes to bed at 9. At 10 I’m under the covers watching a movie. With me, if you want to have a night out in the middle of the week, it doesn’t work.”

When asked about the age difference between the two, Melissa being 37 having a son and Matteo being 27, she replied, “Of course I have a wealth of important experience, but he too has a great wealth of responsibility. There are 50-year-old men, I guarantee, who don’t know what a commitment is. Being a tennis player at that level is a life of sacrifices. I didn’t know it and I even read André Agassi’s Open to understand it.”

From what the Goal Deejay presenter had to say, it can be inferred that if the unwanted controversy is kept aside, the couple shares a beautiful bond and is one of the ideal pairs on the Tour.

After a promising 2021 and a decent follow-up in 2022, the ongoing 2023 season hasn’t been the most ideal for the Italian pro-Matteo Berrettini. Some below-par tennis and a few injuries have derailed the progress of the Italian ace. First-round exits from the Aussie Open, and two masters series events, Indian Wells and Miami, have been a shocker for the tennis world, to say the least.

The Italian did show promising signs at the Monte Carlo Masters. His wins over Maxime Cressy and Francisco Cerundolo were of a decent standard. However, an abdominal injury halted his run, and he, unfortunately, had to retire from the event. The abdominal muscle tear is forcing the Berrettini to withdraw from tournaments week after week.

The latest withdrawal is the Italian Open. Fans along with the Italian Camp will be keeping their fingers crossed as they would love to see their champ compete in Paris for the big prize at the end of this month.
