The Spanish star player Carlos Alcaraz is buzzing with excitement for the 2022 French Open where he is one of the title contenders given his supreme form in claycourt events. Alcaraz finally got his first win over childhood idol 21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal at the 2022 Madrid Masters.

After beating him at the Madrid Masters tournament recently and going on to win that tournament himself by defeating Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev in the next two rounds, Alcaraz picked his second Masters title of the season in Madrid, his first in a claycourt event.

In a recent interview, he discussed his feelings about Nadal who injured himself at the 2022 Rome Masters and has massive fitness doubts about his participation at the French Open. “It hurts to see Rafael Nadal struggling in the sport he loves. I don’t want to see Rafa suffer in the sport he loves and I’m hurting too. I hope he recovers and becomes competitive,” said Alcaraz.

After beating Nadal and Djokovic in the masters tournament the hopes have been high with Alcaraz ahead of the Roland Garros will he be able to full fill it will get to know in the coming days but with energy, he is bringing on the field he would be the tough one to break for even a player like Rafa also.

Alcaraz told everyone, “I am feeling better and better and I feel energetic and eager and knowing that I have my options,” he pointed out. This is what motivates me to have them give me as one of the favourites to win Roland Garros and more than pressure, it is a stimulus to give everything.”
