“I will not tolerate injustice,” Novak Djokovic slams Eurosport and demands a public apology, questions ATP and Grand Slams for not protecting players
The Serbian condemns the actions of Eurosport for his wrongful portrayal
Novak Djokovic
The former world No.1, Novak Djokovic has once again come up with all the injustice being done to him. He has fired on Eurosport, one of the largest media channels in the world for wrongful portrayal. Novak played his first round against Roberto Carballés Baena where he was trolled for using a toilet break when there is no possibility of using one. However, Eurosport wrote that Novak denied the chair umpire’s words and went for a break.
Novak had a serious reaction to this article for publishing something without proper facts and truths. He took to Instagram and clarified on what actually happened during the match. However, he was unhappy with the way, Eurosport is constantly targeting him from a long time. He also went on to give an in-depth explanation in his post-match press conference.
Speaking about his issues with the Eurosport he said “Again, I have been placed in a situation where I have to react publicly. For the second time in six months, I have a problem with Eurosport. I said I will not be giving any interviews to Eurosport. Subsequently they apologized to me, and everything was OK, but here we are again where Eurosport is sensationalizing something which is completely taken out of context.”
He further added saying “I have nothing against them. I love Eurosport, I love sport in general – I have been watching skiing on Eurosport my whole life, but these situations… I am an easy target to be the villain. That is how they portray me, for me that is now a normal occurrence – but I will not tolerate injustice.“

Novak Djokovic strongly condemns such actions
Novak Djokovic speaking in the press continued saying “Usually I don’t react, even though I could have reacted a thousand times over different things in the past. Today they went completely overboard. Nobody apologized to me publicly. Are they going to publicly apologize to me? I don’t think so. Eurosport is broadcasting the Australian Open, they are one of the biggest sports channels in the world. They could issue a public apology.”
Novak was disappointed that such allegations made against him are public and they apologize in private. He explained that most people will never know these apologies made to me, but they will remember the allegations only. The Serbian was also frustrated that he had to keep explaining himself every time someone accuses him of something.
He finally ended by questioning the authorities of the sport and said “Why didn’t the ATP or the Grand Slam come out and explain the situation, when they can see that the media are publicly lynching me? At the end of the day, if we are members of this Tour, surely there has to be some responsibility towards the players, some sort of protection. But no, ‘you do what you want and roast him as much as you want in media, while we remain silent.'”
