After a recent weather-controlled WTA Finals, players have voiced their frustration towards the organizers for not thinking through and conducting the tournament under harsh weather conditions. Iga Swiatek also expressed her frustration at the poor management of the WTA Finals.

Iga Swiatek was mixed up in a recent Polish interview where she answered many interesting questions. She was asked if the WTA Finals was one of the “worst organized tournaments” that she has played in. 

I don't want to use such words. The situation was very complicated, the next year the finals were organized at the last minute. Weather-related issues were not fully thought through - it is the end of the hurricane season in that region. Without a doubt, the tournament should not have been played outdoors.

Other players, like Aryna Sabalenka, had also complained about the weather problems, and luckily both players were heard by the WTA. They accepted their mistake, but the damage had already been done, and players had to face the wrath of the weather during the whole season.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek won the WTA Finals after beating the other opponents under harsh weather conditions. She remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and ended the season with a winning streak. However happy she is with the victory, the Pole is equally unhappy with the organizers for not hosting a tournament under harsh conditions.

Competing in such conditions showed what the athlete was capable of, which is why victory tastes so good. However, we should not be put in such a situation that half of the Internet is laughing at us.
The 22-year-old said

Continuing her train of thought, she further added: 

I hope that the WTA will draw conclusions because its decisions were not favorable to us. My feelings and opinion regarding the conditions and organization of the tournament are consistent with those of other players.

A few matches in the tournament were canceled due to these weather changes. The wind was so harsh that it diverted the direction of the ball, and players found it difficult with their shot placement. 

Swiatek was a victim of the weather conditions and her semi-final match against Aryna Sabalenka was postponed to the next day. Despite the weather conditions, the World No. 1 managed to win all the matches and the last WTA tournament of the year. She concluded the season as No. 1 and fans only hope more from the youngster in the years to come.
