Women’s singles World No. 1 Iga Swiatek recently made history by becoming only the 9th female to play 100 matches as the World No. 1. Her achievement of playing 100 WTA matches as the top-ranked player puts her in an elite group of tennis greats, including Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Martina Navratilova, Martina Hingis, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Chris Evert, Serena Williams, and now, Iga Swiatek.

What’s more, Swiatek‘s record of 87 wins and 13 losses in these matches is identical to that of Serena Williams herself. In fact, Swiatek can boast of playing 100 consecutive matches as the top-ranked player, a feat Williams herself had not accomplished.

Swiatek reached the milestone in breathtaking fashion as she utterly dominated the field in her native Warsaw Open to win the title. By defeating Linda Noskova in the quarterfinals, the Polish sensation also achieved her 100th match win on hard courts. These milestones at just 22 years of age further solidify Swiatek’s place among the tennis greats.
