Iga Swiatek has taken the storm and has managed to be very much consistent with her performances as she made it to eight finals of the various WTA tournaments of the year and has managed to win seven out of them and has only lost once in the finals this year that came at the 2022 Ostrava Open facing defeat against Barbora Krejcikova.

Swiatek added another feather to her achievements as she gets nominated for the ‘Rise and Raise Others’ award in the category of Good Health and Well-Being by the UN Women. She has been nominated as she has been involved in various humanitarian causes, especially for the various initiatives for mental health advocacy that she has been a part of for quite a time with Polish non-profitable organizations and has also been upfront about such issues.

She is one of the four nominations this year for the category of Good Health and Wellbeing with the other three names being Sarahi Espinoza Salamanca from the United States of America, Regina P Markus of Brazil, and Sarah Van Vooren from Nepal.

The Pole recently donated her whole prize money from Ostrava Open towards mental health initiatives that could help people better utilize the money and are in dire need of it. She has said that “I really want to spread awareness and let people know that they can use the help if they need it or help others if they have resources. I’m pretty happy to use my position that way.

Along with promoting mental health, she has also auctioned her winning racquet on more than one occasion to fund various equipment for pediatric hospitals. Iga Swiatek also managed to organize a charity tennis event with Agnieszka Radwanska in Krakow to raise funds for kids affected in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Swiatek has won two Grand Slam singles titles of the year and was undefeated in the clay season with an 18-match winning streak that ended with her quarter-final loss at the Poland Open. She had been quite significant with her performances as she was on a 37-match winning streak until her loss in Wimbledon which shattered her records and dominance. Swiatek has managed to dominate the Tour and has been regarded as a tough competitor since she climbed to the top position.
