Carlos Alcaraz is one player who has enjoyed success lately. The 19-year-old Spaniard has been the talk of the town and heaped praise from the pundits and the entire tennis world on his attitude, style, and the smooth Tennis. The Spaniard has already won the Madrid Open and has been Performing consistently recently. Most of them already betted on him for the French Open title.
In the long list of legends former world No 1 Mats Wilander is the latest to comment on Alcaraz’s tennis. This comes to post his commendable run at the Madrid Open which included victories against Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev.

The young Spaniard is already being counted as one of the favorites and is ahead of the fellow Spanish legend Nadal. The world No 6 is, however, considered next to Djokovic who comes into the tournament with a strong will to win it, especially with the series of incidents that have occurred with him at the start of the year. He himself would want to take revenge and settle for nothing less than the gold.
Djokovic too thinks with all due respect to the others on the tour that Carlos is the Favourite to win the Roland Garros. This comes as a definite boost for the youngster who strongly believes that he is ready to win the slam and would do so this year by winning one of the remaining 3 slams.
A confident Alcaraz told Argentina’s La Nacion, “I’m not afraid to say that I’m ready to win a Grand Slam,” as he says it as a stepping stone toward his dream of being the best player in the world. “Physically I feel very well. I am mentally strong. I am a strong player and in the end, that is what it takes to win a Grand Slam. Now the level is accompanying me. I feel good and quite confident. It’s a host of things that can throw me up and I’m not afraid to say I’m ready to do it.”
The odds seem to be favoring the young Spaniard yet the task doesn’t seem to be as easy as it appears. The World no 6 would have to face the king in the quarters and the top seed Djokovic in the semis in order to conquer the French Open title. He will have to play his best tennis and remain focused as something as big as a slam and people’s beliefs would be at stake every time Carlos steps onto the court in Paris.
