Former World No. 25, Vasek Pospisil, has been playing professional tennis for more than 15 years. The Canadian turned pro in 2007, and since then he hasn’t won any singles titles. However, the player won the 2004 Wimbledon doubles championship along with American player Jack Sock. He also won the 2015 Indian Wells doubles title with Sock.
The player also attained the No. 4 position in the doubles rankings. The Canadian even reached the quarterfinals of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships in the singles tournament. Recently, Pospisil lost in the Round of 32 of the Challenger La Manche. The No. 1 seeded player lost to an unseeded German player, Mats Moraing. Allegedly, he spoke to his coach about not playing tennis anymore after his loss.
Vasek has also played three ATP Tour finals, from which he played two recently in 2020. Currently ranked No.111, as opposed to his high ranking in 2014, the Canadian is still playing tennis at the age of 32. After his loss in the Cherbourg Challenger Open in straight sets, Pospisil was angered and allegedly said that he was ‘sick of this f*****g sport‘.
“I don’t want to play tennis anymore, man. I’m so fed up with this fucking sport,” Pospisil reportedly said to his coach, Malek Jaziri after his elimination. Apparently, he was quoted saying this post-match by journalist, Quentin Moynet. The journalist revealed this information on his social media platform.
Pospisil had had a somewhat lackluster singles career so far, with no ATP titles to his name. However, his doubles career has been more fruitful. In 2022, Valek was part of the Canadian team to win the Davis Cup. Pospisil also reached the 2016 Olympic semi-finals along with compatriot Daniel Nestor.

Vasek Pospisil was born on June 23, 1990, in Vernon, British Columbia. Vasek learned tennis from an early age, by acting as a ball boy for his older brothers. The 32-year-old’s father used to teach the brothers to play tennis. He played his first-ever tournament at the age of 7 when he won the USTA Under-12 tournament.
In 2013, Pospisil won the Davis Cup doubles match which led to his team’s victory. He also won two ATP Challenger titles, which are his biggest wins to date. In 2014, Pospisil debuted in the Top 25, after his doubles victory along with Sock. The Canadian reached his first fourth-round match at the 2020 US Open.
In the same year, he entered his first final since Washington in 2014. Vasek was voted the ATP Comeback Player of the Year in 2020 as well as gained his highest-ever ranking at No.61 since 2015. He is also the co-founder of PTPA along with World No. 1, Novak Djokovic, which was established in 2019.
