“It was not a happy family holiday,” Greg Norman’s sister reveals the sad days that led to golf legend’s divorce with Chris Evert

It was a marriage made in sports heaven, when we talked of current LIV golf CEO Greg Norman and women’s tennis great Chris Evert. However, it only lasted for as long as 15 months.

After the divorce, Norman’s sister Janis came up with her own version of what was going wrong in the relationship, going on record to say that Evert was a bit of a control freak.

Janis said that Evert had talked former Australian golfer Norman out of buying a Queensland property that he was very interested in.

“Greg was so keen to buy a property. She did everything to discourage him buying anything and one of her boys (Evert’s sons) hated being here so much he went home early,” Norman’s sister said in a 2010 interview.

“It was not a happy family holiday,” Janice explained.

Greg Norman’s sister once lashed out at Chris Evert, called her “jealous” of her brother’s higher status

Norman’s sister came openly to support her brother after the broken wedding.

“She became very dominating and controlling and it became very apparent she was treating my brother badly. We all saw it, including his friends. We all agreed that she did not like the fact that Greg had a higher profile and that she was now taking a back seat,” told Janis to the Australian New Idea Magazine back in 2010.

Evert has been open about her personal life recently and she has revealed her battle against cancer and how she managed to beat it twice. Though she is single now, she has been married to several athletes before.

A British tennis player named John Lloyd was her first husband. They got married in 1979 and got divorced 8 years later. In 1989, she married Andy Mill, who was an alpine Ski Racer. This marriage lasted for 19 years and they also have 3 sons together.
