Martina Navratilova, the former Czech-American tennis player and former world number one has played a major role in bringing a revolutionary change to women’s tennis inspiring millions around the world. She has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles in her career and is a record nine-time champion at Wimbledon.
Navratilova turned 66 years on the 18th of October with good wishes pouring in from people all around the world but it was Chris Evert‘s wish that grabbed everyone’s attention as she admitted to almost forgetting Navratilova’s birthday. The former American further went on to post a heartfelt message for her arch-rival.
The former American later conveyed her best birthday wishes as she posted on her social media account and even wished her to have the best day. She added, “I hope you had the best day, you deserve it, my friend“. Evert and Navratilova showcased one of the greatest rivals in WTA history since both equally dominated the sport in the years 1970 and 1980s.

Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova have played a total of 80 matches between 1973 and 1988 out of which 60 of which were in the finals with Navratilova leading the overall head-to-head 43–37. Their head-to-head in the finals stands at 36–24 with both players winning the same number of Grand Slam titles which is 18.
Navratilova led Evert 14–8 in the Grand Slam tournament with a record of 10–4 in the Grand Slam finals. They played their last match against each other in the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championship in 1988 where the Czech-American came out as the winner defeating Evert in 3-sets.
As Evert hilariously confessed about forgetting her friend’s birthday, people on social media could not take their attention away from the sweet confession between both who have also been good friends, and took a sarcastic dig at the former American stating that she can wish her for the whole year.
