“I’ve made a lot of progress” Emma Raducanu excited for the upcoming grass season after a forgettable run on clay

Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu showed her class at the US Open and the world was surprised to watch a young girl make it to the top coming from the qualifying. Her run in the US Open and not losing a single set showed that she could be one of the greatest players in the coming times.

However, Emma Raducanu hasn’t been able to live up to the expectation she had set last year in the USA. Her performance ever since that amazing run has been exceptionally unimpressive. She hasn’t managed to continue on what she had achieved last year.

Expectations from her to win matches have also decreased since the Brit hasn’t been performing any way near her capabilities which we got to see at the US Open last year.

However, her introduction on the world stage took place at Wimbledon at her home and it would be a great place to get her form back and show how good a player she actually is. She will be playing the entire grass season and Wimbledon, starting from Nottingham Open where she’ll the second seed.

Emma Raducanu in a recent interview before Nottingham Open said, “I’ve been quite proud of what I’ve achieved in the last 12 months and definitely not been so hard on myself. I’m just really enjoying my time right now and just really believing in the work I’m doing day in, day out. I know that will come sometime. The grass season is a lot of fun.”

She added, “We’ll see, I love the grass but there are so many good players in the draw and it’s dependent on so many things: the form of the day, how you match up against your opponent. The results at this point, I’ve kind of stopped thinking about it, there’s no use in doing it. Do the right things and it will follow.”

“I think I’ve improved in many aspects of my game. I think there are a few things I want to get back, but I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress. I’m playing better here but the results might not follow because the opponents are playing really good tennis. I take that as a challenge, they’re raising their game.” Raducanu added

Raducanu ended by saying, “After the French Open, I took one day off. I’m feeling really good physically, I’ve been paying a lot more attention to what I’ve been doing around the court. I’m feeling good,”
