The world welcomed a new champion at the 2024 Australian Open as Jannik Sinner beat Daniil Medvedev in a thriller of a final. Having not dropped a set till the semi-finals, the Italian was one of the strong contenders for the title.

En route to his finals, the youngster was up against the undefeated Novak Djokovic in the AO semifinals. Doing the unthinkable, Sinner brought his best game in the match and pulled off a major upset. He beat Djokovic in 4 sets and went on to be one of the youngest players to win the Australian Open since the Serb himself grabbed his first Major title.
