Jannik Sinner won his maiden Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open. The 22-year-old Italian defeated Russian ace Daniil Medvedev in the final despite losing the first two sets. In the semifinals, Sinner beat ten-time champion Novak Djokovic in four sets. He made the 24-time Grand Slam champion look like a rookie in the first two sets.

Such dominance from Sinner attracted praise for the youngster and former Italian ace Francesca Schiavone is the latest to laud the 22-year-old. The 2010 French Open champion has heaped massive praise on Sinner for his title-winning performance in Melbourne.

During the match and when he raised the trophy I understood how beautiful it is for a fan to see a boy who works hard every day and who has quality, compete with tennis monsters like Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and other tennis players and win an extraordinary match like this. It's something special that not everyone has.
