Jannik Sinner meets the ‘Carota boys’ following an exhausting four-set victory against Stan Wawrinka. This cross-over was certainly overdue, with the ‘Carota Boys’ following the Italian around the world. The Carota boys are a group of six men who dress up as carrots and travel the world to support Sinner in his tournaments.

Tennis has always seen fan clubs for certain players. The Big 3 had their own group of people who supported them through thick and thin. But the Carota Boys have shown that it is not only the veteran players who get fan clubs but also the up-and-comers, who have ardent supporters. Jannik Sinner has been considered a third of the new Big-3 by many, along with Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune.

Following his victory, the Italian spoke about his fan club in the on-court interview. When searching for the Carota Boys to address them, everyone was disappointed that they had already left the stadium. This was when the Italian took the opportunity to joke that they had already left.

Nevertheless, he did acknowledge the boys and said, “It means a lot. They left the stadium already.” However, within a few moments, the boys seemed to reappear from their little rendezvous. “Thank you so much for your support, ” said Sinner to his fans as he expressed his gratitude for their constant support throughout his matches.

Sinner defeated three-time Grand Slam champion, Stan Wawrinka, who won at Flushing Meadows in 2016. The match was a four-set thriller, where the first two sets were completely undecided. While each player had a set each in the beginning of the match, Sinner seemed to come in clutch and take the next two sets. Jannik ultimately came out successful with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 4-6, 2-6, in his favor.

The Carota boys are a group of 6 Italian men who dress up as carrots to support their idol and fellow Italian, Jannik Sinner. They are six friends from Revello, Italy, who travel around the world following Sinner around to his tournaments to support him.

This fan club is made up of six men-Francesco Gaboardi, Alessandro Dedominici, Alberto Mondino, Lorenzo Ferrato, and Gianluca Bertorello. Their goal is to support and promote Italian tennis and supporting Sinner is the best way to do so. This is because Sinner is the No.1 Italian tennis player.

The reason for them dressing up as carrots in particular is quite a silly one. The first reason is because of Sinner’s hair, which is orange. The next reason is quite cheeky. At the 2019 ATP tournament in Vienna, the Italian ate a carrot instead of a banana. Due to such antics, Sinner seems to have some very solid support from his fellow Italians.
