After having lifted the ATP Finals title for a record seventh time in front of a full-packed Italian crowd on Sunday, Novak Djokovic was over the moon. He completely dominated his opponent Jannik Sinner over the course of the match beating the Italian by a margin of 6-3, 6-3. But after the match, at the post-match conference, the Serbian was in praise for the local boy stating that he has great things to achieve in the near future.

Djokovic showered hopes over the young star saying that he is destined for success and that it is only time until he reaches the top of the pile in the rankings. Nole also went on to talk about the Italian tennis community and how the sport has gradually improved in the last few years. He held Sinner as the ideal lad to carry forward the Italian flag in the world of tennis and win Grand Slams in the future.

He said, “He needs to keep going because he’s definitely on the right path. I’m not the only one who is saying he can win slams & be No. 1 in the world. I would be very surprised if that doesn’t happen. I don’t know if it’s next year or the year to come. He’s 22. He has a lot of time ahead of him. Jannik, the Italian tennis is in good hands. I think Jannik is someone that is very professional, that loves his country. He does all the right things with his people.”
