It has probably become a new trend among tennis players to flaunt their skiing skills on social media because, after Roger Federer, it is Jannik Sinner who has now posted a video of him flexing his sensational skiing skills on Instagram.

Sinner did alpine skiing as a child and idolized Bode Miller. He was actually very good at it and was the national runner-up as a junior in the giant slalom, which is a skiing discipline that involves racing between sets of poles or gates that are separated by huge distances and that too at very high speeds.

Jannik Sinner wrote in the caption of the video as he glided through the snow effortlessly:

I missed this but it’s time to get back on court.

The Italian was one of those rare athletes who excelled in more than one sport and had to undergo the difficult process of choosing between them. When Sinner was 12, he decided that he was going to pursue a career in tennis and it ultimately ended up transforming his life for good. He often says that he finds the stuff he learned from skiing incredibly helpful in his professional tennis career.

Retired tennis legend Roger Federer is another athlete who loves skiing and has finally gotten the chance to resume the sport now that he does not have to worry about his career as a tennis player. The legend recently paid a visit to the biathlon World Cup. Back in January, Federer posted a video of him skiing, in which he confirmed that he got back to the sport after 15 long years.

Jannik Sinner is one of the favorites to win the 2024 Australian Open

Although the draws for the Australian Open have not been released yet, the Italian youngster is being considered one of the favorites to win the Australian Open. He is being put under the same bracket as Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, thanks to the consistent performance that he dropped near the end of the 2023 season.

Jannik Sinner won the China Open, the Vienna Open, and reached the final of the ATP Finals. En route to the finals, Sinner defeated Djokovic for the first time ever in his career in the group stage.

Although he failed to defeat the Serb in the final, he did it again in the Davis Cup. Now that he has drawn blood from the GOAT himself, the Italian will stop perceiving him as indestructible, which makes him a real contender for the title.
