Young Italian Jannik Sinner received a lot of praise after his historic run at the 2024 Australian Open. Throughout the tournament, the Italian was very consistent with his tennis, winning almost every match in straight sets.
The 22-year-old hadn’t dropped a set up until the semi-finals against Novak Djokovic before posing the biggest comeback to win his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. As humble as he is, Sinner spoke highly about his parents during the trophy ceremony for which he received immense praise. Thanking his parents, the Italian wished that everyone got parents like him who gave their children the liberty to do what they liked. He also wished that every child had liberty and freedom like he did thanks to his parents.

Post this interview, his father was also asked to comment on his son’s kind words. Not holding back on his love and appreciation, Johann Sinner revealed himself to be extremely touched by the world but wasn’t surprised at all. “That’s how he is” declared Sinner’s dad who threw shade on his upbringing. He said that his son had learned the culture of work early, commitment and humility.
He was like that, already good at all sports as he is good at his job. Was I surprised by his words, those words about us? That's the way he is, he learned early on about work culture, commitment, and humility.Johann Sinner via Gazzetta.
Jannik Sinner skips title defense in Marseille and will resume work in the middle of February
One of the most promising players on tour, Jannik Sinner had a remarkable 2023 season and many eyes were focused on the Italian to do something big.

Starting his 2024 with a bang, Sinner did the unthinkable. He won his maiden Australian Open title after a huge comeback. After a couple of years of trying, Sinner reached his first Grand Slam finals and even won it. Unlike many, Sinner did not take much time off before resuming his practice sessions.
Though the Italian dropped out of the Open 13 Provence in Marseille, he will be back, stronger for the next tournament. Replacing him is the semi-finalist Alexander Zverev. Furthermore, with his maiden Slam win, Sinner gets to lead Italy in the Davis Cup and also try and create history there. After last year’s victory, the team is more confident even with the kind of form their leader is in.
