Recently won the US Open title from the grasp of Danill Medvedev in the final, every single tennis player in the world has been sending their regards to the 24-time Grand Slam winner, Novak Djokovic. While the celebrations are still on and compilation videos of Novak Djokovic‘s way to the top have been toppling over on social video, one such video went viral when Novak lost against Stanislas Wawrinka in the finals of the 2016 US Open.
The video was from the MLB matchup between Houston and Chicago when the radio announcer announced how Wawrinka defeated Djokovic in the final but mispronounced Djokovic’s name completely. Women’s tennis superstar, Jessica Pegula has retweeted the post on Twitter adding a caption to her utter shock saying, “What” followed by a shocking emoji.
The announcer mentioned Nole’s name as ‘Djovak Nokovic’ which is a complete utter disgrace and discredit to the recognition of the great man. While fans are completely reliving this funny moment, the announcer will have a hard time coping with the boos and harsh comments. Little did he know that the man who lost the 2016 US Open final would go on to win the tournament on two more occasions in the future.
Where does Jessica Pegula go on from here?
Jessica Pegula has simply not been at her best this year trying hard to maintain consistency having won just a single title this year at the Canadian Open that too against a finalist who failed to perform due to injury concerns. Pegula has made it to the semis and finals on a few occasions but failed to capitalize on her chances leaving her fans restless and unhappy.
Among her Grand Slam performances, she made it to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships, the third round of the Roland Garros, and a round of 16 finish at the recently played US Open.
Her involvement in the doubles sectors of the games has pushed her aggressively down the pecking order at the singles tournaments and she needs to find answers as soon as possible if she is to stay in the Top 10 rankings.
