Jim Courier, the former American player had the opportunity to take the final interview for the Swiss maestro on the court. He spoke about having to keep himself composed during the final interview as he was aware that it would be very overwhelming for everyone. He said “I felt a lot of pressure to make sure everything went well. Because, like everyone else, I love Roger. I wanted him to live this moment as he wanted to live it. I didn’t have the opportunity to see it before, but I got all the information I wanted. You never know how it will turn out.

Courier further added that “I had a feeling it would be a very emotional moment, but I hadn’t imagined that he would be so moved, as well as the others, especially Rafa. I think it went well, at least I hope so. It was an incredible moment to live. I would like to know from Roger if he lived this moment as he wanted to live it. Because he really deserved it. I had to be the one holding the house, I couldn’t afford to let myself go with the emotions too.
