Now, we are seeing a replacement for the three that have dominated the last 20 years: Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic. These guys are stepping up. But stepping up for Paris is one thing, stepping up in Australia, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open, that’s another thing. It’s good to see these young kids and how they are starting because nobody was stepping up. We were waiting for it, now it has started to happen. You know what the fun is gonna be: Alcaraz, Sinner, Felix, and Rune are all playing with each other. That’s the next Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic,” said Connors during a podcast with his son Brett.

It has been a breakthrough year and probably the best year for Carlos Alcaraz as he became the youngest World No 1 and youngest player to win the US Open in the history of tennis. Although he has won one major title; he has already won four ATP titles in the year. That is precisely why he has been compared with his compatriot and idol Rafael Nadal. The biggest highlight of the year has been when Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest year-end World No 1.

It has been quite a remarkable year for Felix Auger Aliassime as he went on to win three consecutive ATP titles until his loss in Bercy. He successfully made his way into the Top 10 rankings. Holger Rune started the season outside the Top 100 and will end it inside the Top 10. He defeated the Serbian legend at the 2022 Paris Masters to register one of his highest points of the year. Jannik Sinner made it to the last 8 of most of the tournaments he has played and won the Croatia Open this year, where he defeated Alcaraz in the final.
