John Isner urges tennis community to make donations for Damar Hamlin as the Bills player continues to fight for life

Sports have the innate quality to transcend boundaries. It can bring people closer together. The testimony of this came before everyone’s eyes when NFL player Damar Hamlin collapsed during the NFL game between Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills. He suffered a cardiac arrest and CPR was given to him immediately. While he was given CPR, players and staff from both sides were sitting around him praying for the restoration of his health.
Soon, an ambulance arrived on the field, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. The coaches and the referee mutually decided to suspend the game. The NFL, too, decided to postpone the game indefinitely. Everybody is praying for Damar Hamlin’s health, since he is in critical condition.
Tennis players, too, are sending their prayers and support for the NFL star. American sports broadcaster Tennis Channel shared an article on social media regarding this.
Damar Hamlin’s charity, which holds toy drives for children in Pennsylvania, has seen nearly $4 million in donations come in since last night’s horrific event.

John Isner went a step ahead by posting a link for Damar Hamlin’s charity, The Chasing M’s Foundation, on social media. He also informed about all the commendable work that the American football player has done over the years for the community. Hamlin had initiated a toy drive to collect $2,500 in donations for children. With the tennis player’s efforts, nearly $4 million has been collected in a single night. He is also asking tennis fans and players to donate.

The tennis community as a whole came together in wishing health for Damar Hamlin. Besides active players, former tennis players and legends are also sending their prayers, love and support for the NFL star through social media.
World No.3 Jessica Pegula’s parents Tim and Kerry Pegula own the NFL team of Cincinnati Bengals. But the concern for the player of the rival team was palpable from her social media post.
Teenage Sensation Coco Gauff also sent out her prayers for the hospitalized player.
American tennis legend Billie Jean King sent her prayers as well.
Patrick McEnroe is horrified with the news of this incident. He too, is praying for Damar Hamlin.
Australian tennis legend Rennae Stubbs is praying for the return of the NFL star.
Two-time US Open champion Tracy Austin wrote that she is shaken by the whole incident. She too, is praying and sent her wishes.
Among his many well-wishers who are waiting outside the hospital, there surely will be some tennis fans. Every tennis fan hopes that better news will soon come out in public. Damar Hamlin will return.
