“Just a misogynist a**hole!” Martina Navratilova hits back at a troll who calls abortion ‘immoral and disgusting’ citing Bill Maher’s comments

A few weeks ago, the US Supreme Court overturned the 1973 ruling which provided a constitutional right to abortion. This means that abortion is now illegal in the majority of the states in the USA. Roughly half of the states, which are mostly ruled by the Republicans, are most likely to ban abortion as a result of which, there have been multiple protests throughout the country.
There has been a clear stand from the Democrats over the issue. They are taking every step possible in the direction to protect abortion access. Due to this tussle, there is a legal standstill between the two involved parties but the majority of the people have strongly opposed this judgment from the Supreme Court.
Recently, renowned comic Bill Maher talked about the abortion ruling with Catherine Rampell and was very dismissive of the subject. “It Doesn’t Affect My Life – I Ain’t Getting Anybody Pregnant,” was his response which once again came under heavy scrutiny. This was circulated over social media and got a mixed response. Referring to his comments where American tennis legend Martina Navratilova was tagged, a troll called himself ‘No Trumper’ and said that abortion is just outright immoral and disgusting.
“I’m no Trumper, but these “Women’s rights activists” can’t seem to get it through their fluffy little heads: Abortion as a form of birth control is just outright immoral and disgusting,” the user tweeted.
Martina Navratilova takes a strong stand for abortion by showing a mirror to a troll
Navratilova, who is a very active person on Twitter and often expresses her harsh views on both cultural and social matters, called the troll a misogynist asshole. “No, you’re no trumper. You’re just a misogynist asshole who wants to tell women how to live their lives…” she replied.
This began a feud between the American legend and the troll. The user called out Navratilova for her language and said that he no more is a fan. Martina then questioned his basic knowledge and made it clear that abortion is not a birth control method. “Have you ever met a woman who used abortion as a form of birth control? Because I sure never have, and I probably know a lot more women than you, something tells me,” she wrote.
The user came back at Martina by saying that his 15-year-old sister considered getting aborted and hence he knows about what he’s talking about to which Martina hit the hammer by saying that at least she had a choice to get aborted, unlike the current ruling.
“Nobody is whitewashing abortion. Stop invalidating women’s hearts and brains. Your 15-year-old sister considered an abortion? At least she had that option. Many women and girls will die because abortion is not an option for them. But I guess you’re ok with that,” she said.
