Holger Rune was criticized for his unruly and annoying behavior in the semi-final of the Monte-Carlo Masters against Jannik Sinner. However, Justine Henin does not think that he was in any way mean towards his opponent during the match.
Holger Rune was able to beat the Italian 1-6, 7-5, 7-5. But at the end of the match, their cold handshake took the media limelight. Justine Henin pointed out that she does not think that Holger Rune did anything so bad which may be against the spirit of the sport.
“Facing Sinner, it wasn’t mean. In any case, he will have to continue to assume this role until the end if it is the one he wants to take. He will sometimes be reframed a little by the other players and by the referees to remain respectful towards everyone,” she said in a recent interview.
“But what I found really incredible was his ability to rally at 5-5 in the second set when this story with the public arises. He feeds on it. He likes to provoke things. Sometimes, to get to really have great matches, you need this little provocation. As long as it remains correct, it does not pose a problem for anyone even if we can understand that Sinner, with his temperament, moderately appreciated the situation,” she continued.
Meanwhile, Holger Rune lost the Monte-Carlo Masters tournament final to Andrey Rublev.

Justine Henin believes spat between Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev may not be a bad thing
The Belgian tennis legend also gave her opinions over the ugly spat, which continued even after their Round of 16 match between Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev at the Monte-Carlo. She thinks neither the Russian nor the Belgian can be blamed for the ugly verbal spat post-match. In fact, she thinks a little banter can elevate the sport and engage more fans.
“Things are getting spicy, It’s going to be interesting, everyone is talking about this thing between Zverev and Medvedev. It happened already in the 80s with other players, and it was nice. Things are getting spicy, It’s going to be interesting, everyone is talking about this thing between Zverev and Medvedev. It happened already in the 80s with other players, and it was nice,“ she had said in an earlier interview.
“I still think it’s going to be the best that they talk together and bring back from the past. But maybe they like it, so maybe it’s the reason,” she had continued.
Justine Henin continues to give her expert opinions as a commentator included in the EuroSport panel.
