Karolina Pliskova to part ways with her longtime coach post her early exit from the Wimbledon

Karolína Pliskova is a Czech professional tennis player. She is a former world No. 1 in singles, reaching the top of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings on 17 July 2017 and holding the position for eight weeks. She is known for her powerful serve and forehand, Plíšková has won 16 singles and five doubles titles on the WTA tour, 10 singles and six doubles titles on the ITF Circuit, and over $20 million in prize money. She has reached two Grand Slam singles finals at the 2016 US Open and the 2021 Wimbledon Championship.

Pliskova suffered an early exit in the second round at Wimbledon 2022, and was defeated by Katie Boulter of Britain. Pliskova won in the first set but then the Brit hammered her with strong aces in 2nd and 3rd sets which resulted the match in favor of Kate.

Karolina Pliskova announces split with her coach Bajin on social media

After the disappointing results in Wimbledon, Pliskova announced her split with her coach Sascha Bajin after a little less than two years. She announced the decision on social media on Monday, saying their partnership “an incredible time” and also termed Bajin as one of the best coaches out there.

Bajin earlier was the hitting partner to Serena Williams and also worked with Kristina Mladenovic and Dayana Yastremska before linking up with Pliskova. Their partnership was fruitful that summer when she reached her second grand slam final at Wimbledon, where she was beaten in three sets by Ashleigh Barty.
